Introduction

Consumers face big problem this days in order to choose new mobile ,
there is a lot of variation from photograph and camera phones options to multimedia and music phones

The 5310 XpressMusic is a music phone which has been beautifully designed by Nokia for all you music loving mobile phone users.

It comes with a easy to use music features complete with dedicated music keys. The handset looks very stylish & comes with a 2 Inch 16 million colour display.

The 5310 XpressMusic has a near twin in the lookalike 5610 XpressMusic. That is a bigger phone which takes a slider format and has a higher calibre set of specifications

Nokia make choosing music phone harder by throwing in two more models from their XpressMusic range – the slim 5310 and the sliding 5610.

Design Rating: ★★★★★★★★½☆

The phone measures up at 103,8×44,7×9,9 mm and tips out scales at 71 grams, meaning that it boasts a really skinny profile, which is what it impresses you with, pretty much like the Sony Ericsson W880i does. It will keep low profile anywhere you throw in – in a shirt’s pocket or jeans, so you can carry it as you pleas

The Nokia 5310 XpressMusic is a compact & versatile music phone which the user will be proud to own. The handset is incredibly stylish which comes in a mainly black coloured casing complete with coloured sections which makes this phone look very fashionable. The 5310 XpressMusic comes with a choice of either bright red or bright blue coloured sections which highlights the phones large screen & dedicated music keys

The default black, red and white theme looks good on the 320 x 240 pixel, 16 million colour, 2.0-inch screen, and beneath this the number pad keys are individually shaped and curved upwards towards their centres, making them easy to press at speed. The navigation pad is relatively small, but it is curved inwards towards the select button, so that using it is not difficult

The handset is compact & thin which measures 9.9mm in depth, 44.7mm in width & 103.8mm in length
The front of the 5310 consists of the usual D-pad, flanked by the left and right softkeys, plus the usual call and end keys. The numerical keypad is set flush with the phones fascia, but each key is slightly convex, giving good feel and separation between keys to allow faster typing. They also provide excellent tactile feedback..
The red bar to the left of the screen is home to three music playback buttons – Skip Backwards, Play/Pause and Skip Forwards, giving users easy access to their music. The top of the 5310 houses the power button, Mini USB port, and thankfully, a very welcome 3.5mm headphone jack. This is the single most important feature that should be found on any music phone, as it enables users to use whichever headphones they like, without extra wires or funny adapters. The charging jack can be found at the top of the left side of the 5310, and volume keys found on the right side.
The back of the 5310 features the 2-megapixel camera lens, though unfortunately there is no self-portrait mirror or flash included. The battery cover is quite tight and can be slid off to reveal the memory card slot, which is located near the bottom right of the phone. MicroSD cards can be hot-swapped easily without turning off the phone or removing the battery. The loudspeaker consists of two tiny holes located next to the SIM card tray.
Overall, I really liked the 5310’s design. The clean lines and slim profile makes it easily pocketable and comfortable to hold. Measuring 103.8 x 44.7 x 9.9 mm and weighing a mere 70.2g (2.5oz), it may not be the slimmest or the lightest phone out there, but it does pack quite a lot of features, something which is rare to find in ultra-slim phones these days

nokia-5310_7.jpg Screen Rating: ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆

The screen is 2 inches in size & has a high resolution & high colour display for the user to enjoy a full colour experience on their screen

The screen is a really nice QVGA (240 x 320) display, capable of displaying up to 16 million colors. Fonts and icons look smooth, and colors were reproduced perfectly. In strong sunlight conditions, the screen can appear slightly washed out, though still remains perfectly useable

Whereas the Nokia 6500’s display has no protective layer on it, the Nokia 5310 enjoys one. Thanks to its mirror-like edge, the 6500 Classic’s screen seems somewhat larger, but size-wise, it is no different from the 5310. What is more, in terms of specs, these two displays are twins, which brings forth a question why would they need to dump a protective layer in the senior model
Both the display and white backlit keypad have their brightness controlled by a light sensor located next to the earpiece. When in brightly lit conditions, the screen will automatically be set to its maximum brightness with the keypad lights turned off. When the surroundings become dimmer, the screen brightness is automatically decreased so as to not blind you, and the keypad lights are turned back on. This is a nice touch from Nokia, as the light sensor is usually seen in more expensive mobile phones. However, there is no way to adjust the screen brightness manually, or even to turn off the light sensor, which is a shame.

The 5310’s display sports 2-inch diagonal and a resolution of 240×320 pixels (31×41 mm), showing up to 16 million colors. All this results in a bright and vibrant picture. This model is actually notable for its pretty much decent display, standing in one line with today’s offerings from Sony Ericsson, like the Sony Ericsson W580i.
The display accommodates up to 9 text and 3 services lines. The font size won’t give you any trouble, furthermore, you can manually adjust its size for some modes and applications.

FeaturesRating: ★★★★★★½☆☆☆

The 5310 worked really well when it came to voice calls
Signal strength was great and the phone managed to hold onto a signal even in places where signal strength is known to be poor

Games : nokia-5310_8.jpg
The phone comes with preinstalled games which include music guess, snake III & citybloxx games. The phone Nokia 5310 XpressMusic supports Java™ games & applications which allows the user to download more games of their choice. The user can access their games whilst on a plane using the flight mode feature

phone book
The user can store up to 2,000 contact names with up to three contact numbers under each contacts name

The phone will synchronise data with your PC and you get the USB cable and software required for this job.
There is an FM radio, and you can use the side-mounted music control buttons to flick through saved stations. The radio software can produce a library of stations automatically so that you can be up and running with the radio within seconds of switching the phone on
Unfortunately, no 3G or WiFi connectivity options can be found in this slim phone, which is hardly surprising at this price point
